I had these speakers for about a month and I have to say that they are great speakers. The only thing I noticed is WHERE THE HELL IS THE DAMN POWER BUTTON? I read the manual and noticed the speakers use some sort of "standby" mode which is the same as turning them off. I don't really want to unplug my speakers everytime I'm not going to use them but then the little green led is driving me nuts when I'm trying to sleep (The computer is in my room and I already have to put up with all the case fan noises). Anyone have a solution to this?

I guess a dedicated powerstrip for the speakers should work. Actually I think the speakers are driving my roomate nuts since they are so loud and he can't find the power button! lol

ROFL.

There are threads about this over at the Klipsch forums. Basically the speakers build up some sort of charge when not plugged in and hissing sounds start.

At least thats what I remember.

yeah that's why i returned them. They are supposed to detect periods of really low input, so they "standby" which equates to a hissing noise and a lil hum. Dump em and get the Midiland s4 8200!!!!

The Pros don't have a power button. When not in use for a certain amount of time, they go into an idle or stand-by mode. Another reason why I got rid of mine! I can turn my BA4800s off by the turning the volume nob all the way to the left and it clicks off. I bet the Pros aren't friendly to the electric bill!

not really, from what i've read it goes into standby pretty much right away.. something about it using a digital amp or whatever.. not much power used when its inactive anyhow

I turn mine off with my surge protector. I have one that you put under your monitor, works great. Use it to turn on ProMedias, desk lamp, KVM and monitor.

And I don't think you would ever notice them on your Elec bill even with them on 24/7 in standby, give me a break.

i don't think speakers use much power when idle anyhow.. my friends iwth cambridge speakers never turn them off because its too much of a pain to hit the off button on the sub.
