I just followed these tonight and the results are outstanding. My old standard wires were incredibly flaky; they would cut in and out if not positioned just right. I considered purchasing the speaker wire replacement kit from Monster cable for $30, but found this site instead.
I had extra speaker wire and a soldering iron already, so all I bought were two mini-plug connectors for $4 a piece at Radioshack (you can probably find them for even cheaper online). A bit of solder here and there, and now I have great tight sound from my ProMedia 2.1s!
Next step is to pick up an Envy-based soundcard to replace this onboard SoundStorm.
