I've had these speakers for almost a year now.

To start, they are amazing speakers.. and even more amazing for the price.

But.. since the day I got them, whenever I'm not playing a song, or even playing a slower song... that might not have something going on every second, there is definatly a noticable buzzing sound...

Nothing I can do to help the problem by chance? :(

I have the same problem, and I sorta hate that hissing sound... Anybody know how to get rid of it?

Have you tried turning down the sound in windows to a very low setting and let the speakers do the amplifying instead of your sound card?

What are you guys using for a soundcard? That would be the Prime suspect. Also check that your cables are properly plugged in and turn off any connected Microphones.

Using a SB Live! Wave Device.. ahha.. its what came with my computer [dell] about 4 years ago... but they do it when they arent even plugged into anything other than power and turned on... blah!

If they are up to 45/60 volume i can hear the hissing over my tv which is up at a decent volume...so its not just a tiny sound I'm being a baby about and having to have it be perfect :(

Post your problem over at the Klipsch Message boards. It might be a known issue and the Klipsch Customer Relations folk read the forum regularly and might help you out if this is a speaker issue.

I have the same speakers, and the ONLY time I get the sound, is when I am drawing too much volts in the room I am in. Utility company is going to upgrade my wires coming to the house. I repeat, this is the ONLY time I get the hiss sort of sound.

I have the same hiss problem with mine. Everything is muted, so that isn't the problem (and the hiss remains even when the computer is off). I'm using a digital coax out from my Soundstorm, so that shouldn't be an issue either.

It isn't a huge deal to me, but may be worth checking with Klipsch about. I love the speakers though, they sound fantastic.

Exactly. Its not the computer, and its definatly not the wires in the house [They do this for me in my room, my brothers house, and my dads house.

Ill go try the klipsh boards

Well, it depends on the situation..

Do you have integrated sound?? Sometimes, depending on the motherboard that you have, you might get a little bit of 'hiss' out of the speakers (coming from an Asus A7N8X here when I play some games); but if you get it across the board, no matter what games you play you may get some un-requested feedback. If more than one game is causing the problem, I would consider getting an auxillary source for sound (I.E. Audigy). If that is not the case, I would get in contact with Klipsch. My friend had a set that went ka-poot on him; and he called them and they send him a brand new set! Just for the record, I think Klipsch are excellent speakers!

Sounds like poorly designed speakers, get your money back. The headphone jack with my monsoon speakers makes a hiss, but luckily no hiss when connected directly off the soundcard.

I heard those speakers are only good with the Soundstorm audio card, maybe that's your problem. Did you guys get them for ~100 from amazon a couple months ago?

you know, i really enjoy my klipsch 4.1 v2 speakers (had them since summer '01), but i've gotta say they've been a headache. i solved a distortion problem by upgrading soundcards, but for the last 5 months or so, whatever sat is plugged into the rear right jacks on the woofer has a noticeable, periodic click. it drove me so crazy that i have since yanked the back speakers, and just use it as a 2.1. at this point, i'm basically waiting to jump on a good receiver and an actual system.

Potential noise makers are analog line inputs, DAC's, amps, wiring and EMI & RFI.

Generally, if there is hissing when using the analog out on a decent sound-card the culprit is an el-cheapo amp in the speaker kit. If using digital output it is most certainly the amp and/or DAC in the speaker kit. Conclusion: get discrete components rather than such kits.
