Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Speaker Problems

Problem is with my Klipsch Promedia 5.1. So I was playing Company of Heroes, and was adjusting the volume using the dial. All of a sudden, the sound from the speakers stoped but the sub woofer was still functional. Meaning I can hear the gun fire from my sub booming still. I tried playing some music, and anything that could play sound, speakers still are not working but sub still makes noises.

When I turned off the speakers using the power button, I noticed that I don't hear the typical on/off sound that the speakers make. So after turning off the speakers, I hit the power button to turn it on, and the sound remains working for about 15 secs before having the same problem. Now this is an endless loop where speakers do not work, but sub does. However, the headsphones I have connected to the promedia power source still works. It even makes the on/off button between switching to speakers and headphones. Anybody know whats going on?

It's possible that your volume dial is either gummed up or is just not making connection for some reason. I had a similar problem with my Promedia 4.1 speakers. I think all I did was blow some canned air in the volume dial as I turned it back and forth. I might have even taken it off to do a more thorough cleaning, but I can't remember.

You might want to look up some info on the Klipsch forums. They have a specific Promedia forum, and I was able to find a lot of good info on there. Here's the link.

I would start with the volume dial though. Let me know how it goes.
