are these as good as people say? i tried them at the store and they were amazing. i'm currently comparing them to the Altec Lansing ADA890 and decidin which ones to get. what do you guys think.
Klipsch is the way to go, I have had them for over 2 years and still love them, some say the new Logitech speakers are real nice also and they are about 140 plus shipping at newegg.com but I like the quality of the Klipsch speakers.
I've never tried Klipsch computer speakers, but their home theater speakers are impressive. Klipsch speakers generally have very low sensitivity, which means that you can turn the volume way down and still get good sound. They're also very efficient, so you should get more bang for your buck in terms of power.
Superb speakers, but the satellites midrange representation is drowned in base. But that's mainly because the base *rocks* the house, literally. Excellent speakers, but you will probably have to do some frequency tweaking, as with any computer speaker system that I've ever heard. Download a THX test and you will see why these things are THX certified, as the base range is great.
When you get them make sure you do not put the sub close to a wall or under a desk. I find the best place to put the sub is out in the open...less boomy that way. But experiment and see what works best for yourself.
thanks. i'm having problems with my Klipsch. and i'm apparently not the only one. they need to be exchanged due to a bad preamp. go figure. i knew it was too good to be true. considering the 5.1s now. and waiting until tomorrow so that i can complain the hell to outpost.com
