Klipsch ProMedia 4.1 or other?

I'm thinking about getting the Klipsch ProMedia 4.1 speakers, and wanted to hear from others that own or have owned them. Or if there is anything better. I'm more interested in gaming and music, and I want to have a good set to crank up but still be able to seperate and handle the highs and lows rather well.
Suggestions or comments.

Thanks,

Look on the Web for reviews - just go to Google.com and type in "Klipsch 4.1". You'll get a few dozen reviews, all positive.

I prefer the Boston BA4800's myself as well, at half the cost. The Klipsch have brighter highs because they have horns, but personally the sound is harsh to my ears. Also their sub has a bit more output (the Klipsch) but it's muddy and not musical. Definitely give both a listen before buying.

I have the 4.1s and I love them, some people prefer the BAs equivalent high end model because the base is tighter, although not nearly as powerful as the klipsch, but I don't have them so I can't say. The only set I would consider are the promedia 5.1s, which will have a center channel and are dolby 5.1 compliant. They will be available the first of july.

Currently there are many 4.1 PC speaker sets on the market in the sub-$300 price range. Many of them are good, but IMO there are only two "really good" sets. The Klipsch PM 4.1 and the BostonAcoustics BA4800.

Both will play clearly at uncomfortably loud volume levels, but the Klipsch have much better clarity in the upper ranges due to the satellites being a 2-way system (separate midrange driver and tweeter) versus the BA's single-driver design.

If I'm not mistaken, the BA's come with floor stands for the rear speakers. Dinky little stands that dont' raise the speakers high enough off the floor IMO, but the Klipsch don't come w/ANY stands. So score one for the BA's there.

Depending on how desperately you want a "perfect circle of sound" around you, some creative engineering is needed to mount the Klipsch sattelites. Email me me if you want and I'll email you some pics. Personally, I dislike having speakers in the middle of the floor. I'm clumsy and would crush them in 2 minutes flat. 😱

Both sets are great. Depending on how critical your ear is and what sound good to you, you can't go wrong w/either one. I have the 4.1's and have never heard anything like them. Using my machine at work with the dinky little $10 pc speakers is quite depressing at this point. Good luck.

I bought my 4.1's 5 months ago and worth every penny.
Unreal tournament, Undying and many others blow me away when I play them.
I hear sounds I never heard before and the Bass kicks major butt in the games.
I would recommend them to anyone.

Thanks for the replys guys. I already read the reviews on the web and only one, the author wasn't too happy with them. I listend to the BA's and they just don't have the sound I'm looking for.
Thanks again,

Try out the Altec ADA890's for about $225
or the exact same ADA885's w/out the optical in for $150
as opposed to the Klipsch for $275+

i read one review where they matched the Klipsch and out-did them in some aspects.

I have them and they are great!

I have Midiland S2/4100s. I have not yet seen an article putting these two pairs of speakers up against each other.

(In case you didn't know, the S2/4100s were the "old" best speakers that money could have)

Any of you see this?
