Hey Folks, back in 2001 there was a great review here about the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX speakers. I've found other nice reviews as well. I ordered a new 24" iMac loaded, and realized that it says it has a 24-watt internal digital amplifier. Now, the Klipsch PM 2.1 don't have a digital input. What I hear is that not having a digital input means that the sound coming from the computer might not be as strong as if I connected to a digital input (perhaps due to low output voltage? The old review notes that portable players (as in iPod, etc.) have low output voltage and that the + 6 dB boost would help. But am I right in thinking that the + 6 dB boost that the stereo input on the PM 2.1 have, *plus* the 24-watt amplifier oomph of the new iMac would provide enough pep to not make this issue of no digital input a concern?
Thanks for any insights!
