Just a quick note, the speaker wire provided isn't the best (22 gauge). You can either buy the specific monster cable for the 2.1s or make your own.

how do you build your own wires? these are miniplugs and not the clips or binding posts that we can easily attach.

Got my klipsch 2.1s for $90 at sam goody a year back 🙂

The price is around $120 for the item shipped, it is a little heavy.

As for the wiring, you would have to solder better speaker wire to a miniplug connector (you can probably get them at radio shack). This wouldn't be very hard, but the novice would want to buy the pre-made monster cables.

Only regret is that I didn't buy another set at that price to get 4.2 audio.

I am a complete novice. I had never picked up a soldering iron, but was able to do this mod.
