Occassionally the left speaker will just stop working. Sound would only come out from the right speaker. However, when this happens and I plug in a pair of headphones into the headphone jack, there would be sound coming from both earpieces. When headphones are plugged in, sound will only come from the headphones. The sound from the headphones is directional and I can clearly distinguish between left and right channels.

...

I just unplugged the audio cable (audio in) from the sound card and replugged it. The left speaker fails. I plug and unplug the headphones and they start to work again.

....

So what is wrong?

....

This explanation may not be clear, so ask if you need help to understand.

I have the same issue with my Klipsch 2.1s. I think it's a fairly common problem. The speaker wire that connects the sattelites to the subwoofer is not the greatest. If I lose sound from one speaker, fiddling with this wire behind the speaker usually fixes the problem.

I have heard that there are ways of making your own speaker wires for this system (involving some mini-plugs, speaker wire and solder), however I have not tried any of them myself.

i have a similar problem except i am using the promedia 5.1 system. all my speakers will cut out and it will go to all bass from the sub. i could not get it to work by unplugging thing though. it would jut randomly cut in and out. i just sent it in to klipsch to get fixed.

Is your audio in firmly inserted into the jack of your sound card? I had a similar problem when i didn't hear bass coming from both speakers only to realize you need to jam in a little more force to make sure the jack is all the way in.

you can buy solderless mini plugs from radio shack. they use little screws instead. i did that with mine. bought some cheap 16guage lampcord from frys or radio shack, i can't remember and hooked em up. works great:) and having enough wire length to hide it perfectly iwas nice
