If you're looking for an affordable, simple 2.1 speaker solution that sounds great and looks good, here ya go:

Not the latest and greatest, but still very, very good 2.1 speakers - and at this price, you can't really go wrong. Picked up a set from Dell about 3 weeks ago for a second computer, even with an ebay coupon i ended up paying about $135 shipped. No regrets though, the speakers are solid, work well, and look great.

Yes, very nice price if you can pick them up at a retail Best Buy store.

Hey these are a great deal... I love this set of speakers. I prefer a 2.1 setup and always preferred this set, the iFi, and the altec lansing mx5021.
Nothing else on the market is worth much IMO as far as sound quality goes.

For $100, I'd say this is well worth it unless you are very picky. These kick out the tunes with the best of them.
I'm going to see if my local BB has them in stock.

This is a good deal no doubt. I would also recommend the Klipsh Ifi. Try lifting one of the sattelites and you'll see what I mean.

Which is the better set of speakers. These Klipsch Promedia 2.1 or the Klipsch IFI set?

I never heard the IFI set with my own ears, but with the specs it seems to be a "better" set than the Klipsch 2.1 ProMedia.
Also the promedia's are an older series, whilst the IFIs are fairly new.

The price of the ifis though is much more than the promedias, and I want to reiterate... these speakers, the promedias... amazing :) I can never get beyond 40% without hurting my ears, very well balanced too

This set for 100$ or wait for the Logitech Z-2300 to be below 70$ or so? And are the Klipsch 2.1 better than the logitech z-2300?

Don't like my Z-2300s. Klipsch 2.1 kills the Z-2300. I tested my friend's system out. Sure we have different audio cards (he has Audigy nad I have N-Force *tear*), but the terrible midrange on the Z-2300 is clearly evident. Changing sound cards might improve the situation, but the Klipsch's are just damn sexy.

I got my Z-2300s for $60, but I've seen them for $50 on dell.

I vastly prefer the more "conservative" styling of the Promedias over the IFIs. The Promedias have served me well for years and I see no reason whatsoever to change. I cannot recall however much these things were back in '01 or '02 when I got them but it's been some of the best $ ever spent on any electronic item. For $100+ shipping + tax they are a steal!

I've had a set of these for a couple of years now, and absolutely love them. They sound fantastic, and have as much volume and bass as you'd want (quite a bit more, actually). If you buy, I recommend playing through something appropriate to break these puppies in (the opening level of the Russian campaign in COD1 is an excellent choice). Granted, they're not 5.1, but I find I just don't care, they're excellent all around (in fact, I gave away the 5.1 system I later bought to "replace" these).

The iFis are better. You have larger satellites loosely based on their RSX-3s and a larger sub with a slotted vent.

Hahaha, those OEM Dell H/Ks are pretty bad. You're ears may bleed when cranking these Klipsch up! Make sure you have a decent sound card to get the full experience, but even onboard audio was a different game with me when I got the Promedias.

I'd love to get those if it weren't for the GMX 5.1D that I have sitting next to my computer.
