If you know what these are then you know they sold only in 1992-1994 for about $450MSRP. Dual 8" woofers and Klipsch horn...only center speaker that matches the Klipsch Chorus II, Forte II, Quartets (what I have), Hersey, etc...

These sell for up to $1000 now. I snagged one locally in mint condition for $300. Probably less use on it that the one I sold in 1998 that I thought I could replace later on.

It's been almost 8 years of semi looking.

There is a second one from the same guy on ebay now (search klipsch academy), ends in 9 hours only at $510 which is still fair (I put $600 as the max fair price on these for those with normal budgets ;), one sold from $10 + $190 shipping on ebay last month)

Now I just need another pair of quartets for surround or a pair of Forte II/ Chorus II for new mains.

Forte II or hopefully Chorus II's will move my Quartets to rear channel duty :)

I have a Klipsch KG4 center channel speaker with 2 eights and a horn. How does it differ from an Academy?

BTW-I've got it paired up with a couple Cornwalls with some Heresy's for the back.

timbre matching is the difference mainly.
