Klipsch 4.1's vs Logitech's Z-560's vs Altec Lansings 641's?

I'm been "researching" the aforementioned speakers and I've listened to them side-by-side (but had to SUBSTITUTE THE 641'S WITH the 621's because CompUSA didn't have the 641 on the sales floor).

I think they all sound good! Due to price, the Klispch are not a serious consideration for me so I guess it's down to the Logitech Z-560's and Altec Lansing 6.41's.

In my opinion, the Altec Lansing 621 sounded better than the other two models (i.e., cleaner highs, mids and lows while at the same time producing solid base) at least at medium sound levels (i.e., didn't want to disturb/wake-up the sales crew at CompUSA.

Anyone have the Altec Lansing 6.41's and wish to to comment? I'd imagine that they sound as good as the 6.21's but with more base (due to dual 6.5" subs vs single in the 6.21's).

Thanks,

Bud

I guess the Altec Lansing 6.41's aren't that common amongst the board members? I've seen a dozen posts regarding the Z-560 vs Klipsch debate...but hardly any mention of Altec Lansings 6.41's. I'll just let my ears by the judge😉

Thanks Anyway.

just got the 560s today, WOW, the bass started shaking my desktop even though the subwoffer was at least a foot way from any objects.
i have to admit, the bass is a bit exaggerated, but i just turned the bass knob all the way down. it sounds perfect now.
The midrange is excellent.

I have never heard of the other 2 systems live, so i cant really comment. But i did read a bunch of reviews regarding all 3 of them, and they all seem to agree that the logitech is the best in overall sound quality and for the money, and that helped me to make the purchase decision.

When I listened to the Klipsch 4.1's and Logitech Z-560's, I thought that they both sounded good (especially with the sub turned all the way down on the Z-560's) and since the Klipsch's are double the price, the decision between the two is EASY...the Z-560's.

However, I prefer to have relatively deep bass which is "clean" (i.e. usually accustic suspension vs bass reflex) along with especially good mids and highs (the midrange is ALMOST always the weak link in a sub/sat system). I'm willing to give up some bass IF the mids and highs are better. I thought that the mid and high range on the Altec 6.21's was the best of the trio (and the bass was low and tight), so I'll probably go the Altec 6.41's (have not heard them, but the 6.21's and 6.41's seem to be be the same except for the two 6.5 inch bass drivers for the 6.41's vs 1 driver for the 6.21's) since the price on the Altec 6.41's has dropped to near the Z-560's (~$150.00).

I've guess I've already made up my mind regarding sound quality, and unless I hear that people are having "construction/quality" problems with the Altec 6.41's...I'll get'em.

Thanks for your opinions.

i have the Z560's and i love em. I read some reviews that said the z560's and klipsch's were pretty much the same except the 560's had better bass (and were cheaper). After getting them i tried the two side by side in Compusa and the 560's just sounded better to me for some reason.

Never looked at the Altec Lansings though...

Other Speakers to consider:

Monsoon MM 2000, 340 Watts, At Gateway Store for around 200.00.
These are really speakers!

Best wishes,
