I'd say that if you're looking for the power of the lows, the Klipsch is by far superior to that Sony system. If you're looking for functionality of a 5.1 system, get those Sony speakers.

MasterHoss, it's much more than "speakers", it's a complete 5.1 Dolby Digital setup! Can you please check out the link and let me know if you still dislike it? Thanks

I agree even if the speakers aren't quite upto snuff i Think this would be a more sound investment.

I think it's a better buy than the Klipsch, but they're probably not too good for music... Kenwood and JVC make better Home Theater-in-a-box...

I agree, but haven't you heard of the amazing Sony 12inch sub. Seriously, that sub is an awesome deal if you're looking for a cheap HT sub.

Hey, I own a pair of Klipsch 4.1s. I have also tested the out those sony speakers at my local Best Buy. The sony sub tends to clip out way too often. The lows for the sub are almost non-existant. The only plus to the sony speakers is that they are true dolby surround. The Klipsch speakers have to emulate the center channel. Another plus for the klipsch speakers is that they have a dedicated tweeter AND mid range. Most other speakers have a single driver that pulls the load of both a mid and a tweeter...not a good thing. This is just my own opinion but I have never liked sony speakers in general to begin with. I have had nothing but trouble with them.

The Klipsch would sound better imo. That Sony receiver looks to be on the very low-end of their product line. In stereo mode there is only 0.09% THD, but in surround it jumps to 0.7% THD. You get much more with the Sony sytem, but I wouldn't want it.

The words "awesome" and "$320 Home Theater system" should never be used in the same sentence. Personally, I'd stick with the Klipsch if what you want is just a set of computer speakers.

Buy the HTS. The Klipsch don't holda candle to a a stand alone reciever. Even a cheap one.

Even for a PC speaker setup, couldn't I use the home theater system? It's not like computer games or MP3 files require different speakers..

I will think about this a few more days, I guess.. ;)
