I'm at my wits' end here. Here's the problem, I install win2k, but on the first startup, during the win2k startup screen, I get a bsd due to a ntdll.dll file. Safe mode produces the same result. My setup can be found under "Troilus" in my rigs link. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Cool system. Have you tried a barebones install? you know, just the mb, and no cards?

Yes, I have. I actually managed to install 98SE just to try the system out (was waiting on copy of 2k), but I couldn't get the RAID controller drivers installed successfully. Right now I'm running with the two HDs, the vid card, the dvd drive (for the installation CD), and that's it. Onboard audio is disabled. I'm starting to get slightly nutty though, I've been stuck on this problem for a few days now.

Flash to the 0426 bios, get the latest RAID drivers (if you are using it), reformat and reinstall with barebones as mentioned.

Look here for more info specific to the KK266(R).

Try a different IDE cable also. Are you using the one that came with the board? I say that because some cables made my system goofy.

Did you F6 and load the RAID drivers during install?

or (from the FAQ)

One Drive on Raid?
Set your CDRW/DVD on the primary channels. Put the HD as master on the first RAID channel.
Boot up, when you see the RAID screen press the key to go into the Raid Bios. Stripe the single drive as an array. It will know you have a single drive but will treat is as an array.
Then in Bios, set First Boot Device to RAID.

Good luck. Sweet system.

What is the problem?

Did you dump the drivers on a floppy so that they are not in a folder? Setup will not find what it needs if you have the drivers buried.

You can also disable the RAID ports by jumper and just use the Primary and Secondary IDE and skip the RAID all together.

Nah, I want the RAID. I did the f6 stuff and I used the manufacturer's driver disk, as well as trying one I made myself with updated drivers. Still no luck. Is it possible that one of my HDs is bad? Would I even be able to install if it was?
