i am really wanting to get this motherboard so please keep comments to it only.

newegg has a refurb kk266-r for $99 free shipping

new it is $122 + 10 shipping

so a $32 dollars savings but only 30 day warranty, i think iwills warranty on new boards is 1 year?! am i right?

so anyone care to comment on neweggs refurbs? i imagine they have to be just customer returns.

has anyone bought a refurb motherboard before and had any luck?

thanks in advance

The KK266-R is a great mobo. I own one myself. I tend to shy away from refurbed mobos. IMO it would be worth the extra $30 to get a brand new one.

I don't think I'd want a refurb board of any brand. So far as the KK266-R Iwill, I can recommend it. However, be warned: The AMI MegaRaid feature is a pain in the butt to set up properly. If I had it to do over, I'd buy a KK266 and a Promise PCI dedicated RAID card. Otherwise, the KK266-R is a solid performer - does everything well and is rock solid stable.

for the extra 30 bucks i would want the full warrantee. But maybe your credit card automatically extends it for you. Check into that.
