KK266 multiplyer prob :(

g'day 🙂

i just got my Iwill KK-266R set up, and it seems to be effect by the bug as in it sticks @ 8.5X on any other setting other than auto🙁

I know about Iwill saying only a number of boards in the US were affected, but I bought mine in Australia 🙁 so maybe the problem is more widespread than Iwill first thought

i gave up trying to explain the prob. to my reseller after about 1/2 hrs... him "well, the board boots and runs ok doesnt it?' me 'yeah but'... round and rounds we go 🙁

i emailed Iwill tech support, lets see if they actually respond within 5 days 😀

anyways, other than that the mobo is rock solid, running my duron 600 @ 6*168mhz (new bios adds extra FSB's). im amazed 😀

Dumb question, but did you unlock the Duron, as you must to be able to use the multiplier option?
Also, you may want to redo the L1 bridges, just in case.

yep, tested with two unlocked durons and one tbird
and I tested all them in a Epox 8KTA+ mobo that could change it no prob 🙁

as soon as I take it off auto, it sets it to 8.5X no matter what I set it too. tried the new bios + repencilling too 🙁

thanks anyways 🙂

hmmm... that resistor mod looks pretty easy (on overclockers.com)
might just do that
easier than living without a mobo for weeks while i send it overseas !!!

check the threads.. i think some people with the similar problem connected their L7 bridges, and things worked after that.

Just take a look at your board and ask yourself 2 questions
1) Is it version 1.2?
2) Do you have the resistors in the wrong place as stated by the article at www.fullon3d.com

all my L7 bridges are connected already - so my chip boots up @ max voltage (1.85v)

nino - I will have a look see at the mobo resistors tonight 🙂

thanks, but that rma form is for US residents only and im in Australia 🙂

hopefully iwill will respond to their email soon 🙂
