kk266 bios? does it effect temp?

i updated my bios to march7 and noticed a increase in speed for my system. i also noticed the temp jumped up 10 degrees...is this right? and when playing music for a little while i hear a long beep and then my computer locks up. is my system overheating? it says 52c/125f. im debating whether or not i should go back to the original bios.
