ok this is my problem:
i have the nonraid version of the kk266 and i'm trying to find a sound driver that will work with XP. I've tried every single one out there, including all of those listed on the FAQ at x-faqtor.
The one listed specifically for XP DOES work, but for some reason it only works for either 2.1 (two speakers and sub), or all 4 speakers and NO sub. I cannot, for the life of me, get this onboard sound to work with 4 speakers + the sub. (i have a Cambridge pcworks 4-point surround 4.1)
The original sound drivers off the CD will work for me, but only if i tell it to duplicate the sound from the front two speakers to the rear. And while that works for music, it isnt exactly "positional" audio when the rear speakers are duplicates of the front ones. Am I stuck using the ones from the original CD or has anyone else gotten a newer version to work for them?
