I did a search and found others are experiencing the same type of choppy sound problems that I am having. I built a system using the KK266 Mobo, 256 Crucial RAM , and an Athlon 1Ghz CPU. Initially, I had problems when I surfed the web, the sound would cut out (using WinAmp). I checked, and the Sound device was using the same IRQ as the network card. I tried changing slots for the NIC (SMC 10/100 EZNet), but it always seems to grab the same IRQ. However, I'm not so sure that's the problem, because when I hit CTRL+ALT+DEL in Windows 98, the Sound Stops until I shut the task window down. I downloaded the latest 4in1 drivers, however I didn't try the latest C-Media drivers yet. Is that it?
Has anyone "fixed" sound problems like this with the KK266? If so, what was the solution?
