Guys.. I have recently bought a WBK38 to replace my Super Orb.. I have yet to have it installed coz I can't seem to get my Super Orb out.. So instead of risking it, I am planning to bring my CPU back to the shop to have it changed.. However, the shop I bought the WBK38 from recommended that I get the PEP66T instead.. It's twice as expensive as the WBK38 and he claims that it's much better.. The PEP66T he is selling comes with a 40cfm YS Tech fan which I should think will be quite noisy, much like the WBK38.. Which should I go for.. keep the WBK38 or have it changed to PEP66T?
Also, I am using a KK266 mobo and from what I have read, I will have to have the PEP66T modified in order to install it on my mobo.. What kind of modification is needed? I doubt the shop guy will do it for me and I am pretty bad at mods.. Heck, I can't even remove the Super Orb.. Tell me guys, what do you think?
Another thing, if I were to keep the WBK38, should I lap it? What I read about lapping on the internet isn't too consistent.. Some claim it will help the heat transfer.. while others say it will do otherwise.. Since I trust you guys, give me your feedback..
