Kiwi Brand knives

I just did a web search and someone in Austin feels the same way. I get vegetable and paring knives that are Kiwi Brand at Hoa Bihn market in Chamblee, GA (Buford Highway). For about $2, I have paring knives that will take a serious edge. The vegetable clevers will cut through chicken bone with ease and those are about $3.50. Cheap wooden handle, but even with dishwashing, I have only thrown 1 out in 6 years (I think it was a heavier cleaver and I was using a hammer on the back to cut through heavy bone - the handle broke at the rivets.)

So, super sharp and at a disposible price.

Anyone else use or hear of them?

Yea they're pretty damn sharp for such inexpensive knives. You can also find them at any asian store around here.

My dad always uses these and I have a smaller cleaver by Kiwi myself. Personally I've always liked them, but I feel like when they get dull (which is pretty quick) it's hard to get it as sharp as it ever was. (PS:I just my dad some pretty expensive German knives and he's decided that he likes them more than his Kiwi of like 6 years. Both my mom and dad used them and said they had to exert less energy to cut up the meats).

No. I did a web search just before I posted and could not find them. I suspect they are so cheap, it isn't worth it.

I have a sharpener that you would never use on something expensive. It shaves metal off and they are like a razor.
