I found my mom's cat lying in front of the door wheezing, and when I opened it she sort of fell through the door way. I saw that her collar was caught around her neck so it was prolly cutting off her breathing and/or air :(

Took it off and she seems ok now... eating a bit and walking around...

It was a safety collar too... (designed to break if it starts to strangle)...

Geezus.. some safety collar, time to buy one that'll actually break off next time. Glad you were able to save it.

Good thing your kitty is alive and well. I'm fairly certain my lap cat won't make it through the holidays. She had a nearly fatal infection a month or so ago. She was even in a coma. The vets brought her back, but now she can't keep any food or water in for very long. I tried everything, and they all work for a day at the most. Yesterday, she went into hiding and won't budge. I'm trying to decide now if she is in too much pain and if I should end it early for her.

:(

I had a friend who had a feeding tube stuck in her cat.... but it cost about $1000, and at a certain point, I wonder if making a donation to help humans isn't better.....

The cat did survive though...

Glad to hear the OP's kitty is OK.

Dullard, I'd definitely put her down. I've had to make that decision a few times, and it's always hard losing a pet, but it's better to let them go than let them suffer needlessly. If she's gone into hiding, it must be pretty bad. Cats tend to do that when they get sick or hurt. Poor kitty. Sorry it had to happen now, right before Christmas. :(
