I have one cat who always laid on top of my reef tank's canopy. She liked the warmth from the lights. One day, I had the lid open for cleaning, and she jumped up...and right into the water....Boy was she pissed! I could hardly stand up I was ROFL so hard...

It's hilarious when kittens discover water is not something they can walk on. I had a somewhat similar experience with my dog (Pug). Basically I was home visiting my mom and decided to jump in the hot tub. The dog had no idea that the top of the tub was water and not solid. That dog sunk like a rock too (but wasn't in the water too long, I rescued her quickly).
The result was one wet and temporarily untrusting dog.

Our littler one likes to jump ontop of the garbage can whenever I open the pantry door, so she can be closer to my face to more affectively beg for food early. Its one of those garbage cans that you step on the pedal to open. I think you know how the story ends. I was going to throw something away, not open the pantry door so the can jumped into the open can.
