Looking at two different models (one at Sears, the other at HomeDepot).

Both have stainless steel interiors, 3 tiered spraying, and the works....

Between those two I'd probably go with Maytag. But if it were up to me, I'd get a Whirlpool or Kenmore.

Uhm, do you normally put clothes in your dishwasher?

Well, if they're doing their clothes in the diswasher, they've got bigger things to worry about--like how in the world are they going to afford 2 plane tickets to visit cousin Bubba.

Our Kitchenaid fridge is a rebadged whirlpool. Take that for what its worth.

I'd go with Maytag. I know they have a great rep for washing machines, but dunno about their DW rep.

I have a KitchenAid DW w/stainless and works (at least it was top dog 4.5 years ago) and it still is working like a champ. My in-laws have had a KitchenAid DW for about double that time and theirs has never taken out on them either.I don't really have too much experience with Maytag DW's.

Take it for what it's worth.

Is there a forum for stuff like this? I'm buying a house and I'm going to have to buy some of these big ticket appliances. Dishwasher comes with, but I'm looking for an entry level fridge, washer, and dryer. Also vacuum and microwave. Hello domestica.

Consumer reports.

It's available in most libraries, so you can check the archives as well.

Yup, my girlfriend's parents have a Bosch dishwasher. The damn thing is SILENT when running. SILENT. And I've never seen a dishwasher that can get so much food off dishes. The damn thing's amazing.

Well i subscribed for a month to the website... Two bosch models took top honors.... Kitchen aid was #9, GE and Maytag pulled up the rear.

bosch's are nice, but if you compare features and price, maytag will come out on top. You have to spend over $700 on a bosch to get a quiet one, with maytag you can spend under $600 and get the same features and it will be quieter. Also the maytag has a sensor that knows what cycle to run on, has a better filter, more powerful jets, and a model with a third rack.

Of course I just sell the darn things, what would I know?

The $567 Bosch model we played with at sears was almost silent. The store was pretty quiet as well since it was so late.....
