Kitchen Managment Software?

Hey Guys,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of some kitchen management software that would inventory my food and generate grocery lists ect. I'd also be interested in one that could suggest recipes based on the current inventory...

I've got no idea if this exists, but knew that ATOT would know.

Thanks!

I haven't upgraded to Wife 1.0 and Girlfriend 1.0 is incompatible with these tasks...I was hopeful that a PC could fill the void

You could work up a database pretty quickly. Could also (if you want to up the geek factor) get a barcode scanner and tie that in. After the initial set up, it'd be easy enough to just scan everything in as you put it away. Would definitely make it easier to tell how many dozens of cans of tomato soup and tuna you have stored in the back of the pantry.

Depending on where you're located, there's also some online co-operative database that tracks sales and things at grocery stores. I remember seeing it here or Hot Deals a few years ago and it wasn't yet active in Washington.

you can't keep your pantry/shopping list organized for you (and possibly +1 girlfriend)?

As far as Hossenfeffer's idea, that's fine, but are you going to remove each can of tomato soup as you use it too? This seems like an exercise in futility.

I think there's a website that will suggestion recipes based on what ingredients you have. Unfortunately I can't think of the url right now.
