I'm going to try and live without Flash for a while. Don't really want to install Dolphin :)

Awesome. But I'm going to wait a bit before upgrading my Nexus 7s. I'm don't have a reason to upgrade to KitKat yet except to get rid of that annoying system upgrade notification message.

What are you using that requires flash? I don't believe I have had a need to use it on my last three phones (Nexus 4, HTC One and Nexus 5). I use Chrome exclusively.

You can start then cancel it immediately. Then it goes away.

Many local news channels without apps still rely on Flash.

This very much

Also NBC, CBS, etc.

The death of Flash has been predicted for years and wrongly so. All disabling flash support means is diminishing the utility of what is largely a media and Internet consumption device.

Flash is useful until content makers stop trying to treat desktops differently from mobile devices.

It's dying on mobile. How could you even dispute that?

Adobe has officially dropped Flash. It's not available on iOS or Windows Phone. The one company that built a tablet around Flash, BlackBerry, is dying (and has killed off the tablet in question). I would rather push site owners to join the modern era than drag down software quality in the name of legacy support.

Tell that to Adobe.
Adobe has ended development/support of mobile Flash. If anything, Adobe was the one that killed it themselves, and not anyone else.

Both NBC and CBS have mobile HTML5 versions that seem to work just fine.

You don't need Flash that much anymore. A lot of major sites have upgraded to HTML5 now.

Have you not read this thread?

Just because you won't use Flash that often doesn't mean it's not important to have as a fallback. And if you're a Prime member, it's near-essential.

What is Prime? I did read the thread. I have Flash on my Nexus 7 4.2 with Firefox Beta and the flash plugin. I rarely use it.
