Kiss my RMA

This is just a rant but before I begin, let me say it wasn't my choice to buy Gateways this year. Some higher up decides to save the company money and voila...fodder for a new topic.

So we're just now pulling the new ones out of the box and getting them out on the floor. Out of the first 20 I have 2 with broken PSU's. I call it in, get a replacement part...except they send me a new PSU with no SATA plug. Ugh. Call back make sure the next guy understands SATA plugs are really necessary.

So then I start looking for a return shipping label. Can't find one; figure they've forgotten to include it. Call Gateway back and they tell me their policy is to give me an RMA number and then I take that and the package to the FedEx store where they print the label. To send a driver to my door is $15. Que?

This is a steaming pile of garbage. They send me the wrong part and now I have to get in my car, drive to the FedEx place, and then wait while they print my shipping label? Do they plan to send me a check each month for gas mileage?

Venting helps, I guess, but what a stupid policy...

Cliffs:
1. Some higher up decides to buy Gateways
2. Some are broken out of the box.
3. I have to drive replacement parts to the FedEx store or pay $15 to have someone pick it up at my office.

My Mom would have washed my mouth out with soap for the string of dirty words I let loose the day they drove up with the cow boxes.

i don't see how gateway's any worse than dells that most companies use. and gateway also has AMD systems, they are not an intel only company.

I have seen the light and know now that Dell is a shoddy company. Gateway can't be much worse.
