could someone explain how they go from noticing the girl doesn't have underwear on, to knowing she came from a mental institution?

I forget exactly how that connection was made, but I remember it was an awesome movie. Is the DVD out?

Not sure about the DVD, but I have seen it 3 times :) Yet I still can't figure out how they make the connection. I realize that they mention Harlen (sp?) Dexter owns the medical clinic, but I don't know how they could then assume the girl had been held captive there.

I'm gonna keep bumping this until one of you gets annoyed enough to go watch the movie and perhaps see something that I'm missing. :)

cheers

I think it was a combination of:

-it seemed odd for the girl not to have any underwear on.

and

-something funny was going on with dexter, who they knew owned a mental clinic.

hence, gay parry (or whatever), went to see if the mental patients wore any undies, which confirmed what he suspected.

eh, i was hoping it was something more than this, seems like a huuuuge stretch. i know plenty of girls that don't wear any panties.

but thanks for the response :)

I have no idea.

I just watched teh movie finally though...& OMGWTFBBQ?!!

I think that it was the most "wtf did i just watch" movie i've ever seen.

At first, i actually found it incredibly annoying, but as it progressed, i must admit i found the insanity so unbelievable i actually was enjoying it.

Seriously, wtf...fun movie though :p

man, I remember it being fairly easy to grasp when I watched the movie (which I loved, top 10 of 2005 for me)...but now I can't think of it. :( You'll excuse me for not remembering every detail of that fast-paced movie :p

Because the patients in the mental institution didnt wear underclothes.

Remember the scene with Val and Robert asking the patient if she wore anything underneath?

Also, she was "born again into religion" and that was why they wondered why she wasnt wearing underwear in the first place.

It was known that Dexter owned the Mental Clinic and that his daughter was "born again". Born again meaning a closer belief and relationship with God hence why she would be wearing an underwear.
