I never understood why they cost as much as they do. I have a $99 Eureka whirlwind with a HEPA filter that has suction good enough to get rid of fleas in my flat, yes fleas were gone after about 2 or 3 complete sweeps of the house. It still works great 3 years later. Now why do Kirbys cost as much as they do?
