Kiplisch Promedia 5.1 availible July 1st!!!!

I can't believe ANYONE would spend ~$400 for a set of PC speakers. For that kinda money, you could set yourself up a decent system for an entire area, not just a PC. Besides that, I've found Klipsch lacking in the quality arena, but that's just IMHO. (Based on experience with v2.400 only)

<< And Hot Damn $400 is a lot of money! >>

it seems the amp is driving the cost up b/c you can get equivalent set of 5 speakers w/ better drivers plus a 200W powered 12" sub for under 200 bucks.

I agree with pab, i can't even beleive i spent 250 on these classic klipsch PM back when they came out now i could careless about them. Next time i upgrade my speakers i'm going the real way out, get a DD receiver and some top performamce for 400 dollars that really sound good.

not worth it IMO. i gave up my klipsch's (mainly fro money tho, but looking back, i shouldn't have got it), made a canadian very happy 🙂

Come on! You can get a sweet 8.2 system (2 Boston Acoustics BA4800) for less than that. Clearer, and you have a better sense of depth (not much more, though).

I am sure the BA's are good but I consider my Klipsch 4.1's to be one of the best purchases I have ever made for my computer. I love the sound with both games and MP3's and of course the bass levels are amazing.

From what i've heard they lack control though. My dad bitches at me to turn my bass down all the thyme on my DTT2500 system.

Well if you're referring to the Klipsch, they have a subwoofer volume control knob right in the front of the control pod.

OMG, for $400 they could have at least included a hardware DD 5.1 or DTS decoder! They totally cheaped out on that... I wouldn't expect awesome dolby digital material coming out of these new 5.1's. Software is no where near the quality of true hardware decoding & I don't believe it ever will be anytime soon. Besides, if I were to shell out 400 clams for speakers I would go the extra mile and spend a little more to get some REAL home theatre speakers that will be light years ahead in terms of quality.

Yes, I have to admit--as much as I love my ProMedias, I think $400 for PC speakers is a bit much--especially considering you're getting only a 5.1 setup without some kind of hardware digital decoder. But hell, I spend $600 for my speaker system and love it.

I'm sure they'll sound even better than the 4.1s so I can't wait to hear them.
