About two years ago, I purchased a Kingwin KT-436. I love the layout and features of the case, but the fans that came with it make a terrible amount of noise, and are probably not of the best quality.

As I intent to upgrade my system this year, of paramount concern is keeping my system cool. With two front 80mm fans, two rear 80mm fans and one top 80mm fan, there should be plenty of airflow in the case.

The components for my build are as follows:
ABIT AN8-ULTRA or MSI NEO4 Platinum
eVGA 7800GT
Seasonic 500W
Athlon X2 3800+ or Opteron 165
Corsair ValueSelect (2x1GB) dual channel kit (PC3200)
Western Digital Cavier SE16
Soundblaster Audigy 2 PCI
2 Maxtor IDE internal hard drives (for file backup)
Plextor DVD-R/RW IDE
Panasonix 72x CD-ROM IDE

What 80mm fans should I add to my purchase? The only quality I am looking for in my fan replacements is that they not make a ton of noise...the fans I have now are somewhat loose, rotate unevenly and make a lot of noise...sometime sounds like sickely propeller planes taking off in my home office.

I am not sure if any company offers this, but fans with removable filters for cleaning would be beneficial as well, as my case does not have any built in dust/air filters.

I have that exact same case! I actually put basic uv-reactive fans in there, which are not very quiet, so I put this fan controller in there, and now I can hardly tell that my computer's running! I also use it as my hard-drive cooler. It has four fan connectors, but one of them powers the 40mm fan for the hard drive. I use the other three in conjuction with y-splitters to power my 5 case fans in addition to the fans on my graphics card, cpu, and northbridge. I thought I would have to turn the fans up a lot when I game, but with my new cpu and graphics heatsinks, it's really not necessary. So, I run the fans at half-speed almost all of the time. I'll probably have to turn them up in the summer when it's not 68 in the computer room.

If you don't want to mess with the fan controller, I would recommend the Vantec Stealth fans. I can't speak from experience, but they're supposed to be really quiet at full speed.

My case came with the fan filter in the front. I removed the front thumb screws and the two front panels, and there it is at the bottom. You should at least have a white holder there to hold a fan filter. Your other fans should be blowing out, so no fan filter is necessary for them.

Those fans dont have a great enough speed to cfm ratio. A better buy is a Yate Loon or Nexus fan. CoolerMaster fans are very good as well...

Good inputs so far...any more comments before I take the plunge.

Sticking my head out onto the chopping block a bit here, but I am also interested in...gulp...blue LED fans...my case has acrylic panels on the sides and top, and I want it to shine all purty.

There's nothing wrong with wanting LED fans. I have them (or uv-reactive ones anyways), and I'm sure a lot of other people here have them as well. They usually don't offer the same cfm-to-dB ratio that you can get in a Panaflo or other high-quality fans, but for case fans, they should certainly be sufficient. I'm using these fans for my case. Like I said before, they were loud at full speed, but they're much quieter and still provide ample airflow with the fan controller. If you don't want the fan controller, I would recommend quieter fans like these or ones with speed control like these.
