Hi,

I purchased an KINGSTONE SSDnow v300 120GB(SV300S37A) and I fixed them to my VOSTRO 1540 laptop instead of HDD drive(Hitachi).
I install Windows 7 Pro, everything sounds great, but after windows reboot BIOS doesn't see my KINGSTONE SSD drive!
(SSD is no longer detected in BIOS every time I reboot the computer from Windows).
But, when I turn off laptop, and power on again, everything is working fine! Windows is starting, everything works as it should.
The problem occurs only when I reboot laptop from Windows.
When I power off Windows and power on laptop everything works fine.

any ideas...?

please help

BIOS updated
SATA MODE = AHCI

Nah, that sounds like a bad partition map or boot sector. Maybe using GUID partition table when your motherboard only supports MBR.

I have the same problem with my second homebuilt (GA-H81TN) and any SSD or HD I plug into it.

My vote is sandforce bug, try to find if there is a recomended firmware upgrade for your model.

Before flashing the new firmware, make sure (via google or here) that the firmware you are going to use doesn't cause more problems.

It should probably be all good after applying the right firmware.

Hi,
Thanks for advice.
According to Kingston Toolbox there is no firmware update available.
Firmware version is: 600ABBF0.

Is there any chance, to make it work properly?

Meanwhile I load defaults in the BIOS, unfortunately without success.
