i tested my new 512mb valueram from kingston with memtest, and after several cycles it reported it faulty, i have done the test a few times and it usually comes up faulty withing an hour or so of testing..

is memtest the a reliable program itself, or is there a better one for testing ram??

and is kingston just bad memory, should i have gone with a crucial or something else, what are your opinions of kingston ??

thanks..

Kingston's good stuff, RMA it or exchange it where you got it.

If it says it's bad, it's bad. Some memory test are better than others but almost any test that shows a problem is telling the truth.

Maybe your CAS latency is too fast? That valueram is only cas 3 I believe.

Good thing Kingston has a lifetime warranty.

It's also possible that it's just incompatible with your motherboard. I had memtest reporting all kinds of errors when I was using my pc3500 Kingmax memory on my Asus P4R800-Vm, but worked perfectly fine in my P4P800 with no errors.
