Kingston Value Ram

I got a pair of Kingston Value Ram to run in dual channel about a month ago, then decided to upgrade to a opeteron 170 and DFI LanParty Expert. Needless to say I heard that value ram didnt work well with the board, but mine works fanstastic. Its running completely stable and I have the the memory overclocked to 225mhz (DDR450) and 2.5-3-3-6 timings with stock voltage. I havent tried to get any further but I will tonight, ill see if I can get the timings a bit lower and see if i can get it up to DDR460.

Has anyone else gotten any value ram like this?

I use value memory on a DFI board too. Mine doesn't overclock much, but it runs well at stock speeds or at reduced timings with a slight underclock (2-3-2 at 185mhz), which is what I use.

I don't think these boards have issues with value memory in general; it's only the popular Corsair VS sticks that are hit or miss, depending on what chips they have on them.

I am recieving my Opteron 939 144 CAB2E 0548EPAW tomorrow 🙂 I am so excited. I am also using Kingston Value Ram. Ok with Asrock 939 Dual board and a Gigabyte G-Power Pro HS + Fan (runs athlon 3200 at 38 degrees on low speed), what kind of overclocking should i get. I am hoping for 2.9 gigs + 2.3.3.6 on the memory. With my current socket A board i get crashes with 2.3.3.6 - should i up the SD Voltage a little? Any advice or comments on my expectations would be sweet! Thanks guys 🙂

Ok now it is getting late and i need sleep but the memory seems stable at 2.3.2.6 - that is the same timings as Corsair XMS3500LL Pro TwinX. And i got this kingston for only £30 per 512 stick 🙂
