I just added another 512mb stick today from Kingston (PC3200 CL3)
I know that it's pretty good ram but definately not for o/c purposes.
If I decide to o/c anyway how far do u think that this mem can handle?
Is it worth to buy some ramsinks for this?

Also the code is slightly different in the one I bought. (It's KVR400X64C3A instead of my old KVR400X64C3 and the ram chips are "ELPIDA" instead of "Kingston". Should I take it back?

Thankz

I wouldn't take the memory back... just use it.. if it works fine, it's all good..

PeteRoy, this ain't the type of place where people say stuff like that.. LOL... IMO there is no risk, I've never seen anything fail due to overclocking (unless PCI BUS corrupts hard drive data) but that's oldschool problems.

anyhow, keep the RAM!

Thankz man I wouldn't even think of some serious o/c just some bump up...
So should I go buy some ramsinks in any case?

They're called heatspreaders, not ramsinks. :) And no, they're not worth it.

And if you want to overclock, then go ahead and try. There isn't really much to lose. If you overclock it too high and Windows happens not to boot, go try a lower overclock speed or increase the voltage (vdimm).

Thankz for the correction, anyhow I know how to o/c I'm just asking if someone had some experience with this type of ram. Anyway I'll look it up at some sites

They are ramsinks as well and that RAM does not OC well. If you hit a higher Bus then run a Mem check /test prgram for errors.

Yep I have that in mind always (Memtest) together with SuperPi for my tests. ;)
Thankz
