Kingston pc3200 hyper x running at cas 2.5 instead of cas 2

here's my system specs.

abit nf7-s ver.2
amd barton 2500 (oc'd to 3200)
(2x512) kingston hyper x pc3200 (part #khx3200ak2/1gr)
xfx 5700 ultra
wd250 gb hd

the specs say it should run at 2-3-2-6 timings but even when I try to manually set to timings to just cas 2 it won't even start up. anyone having similar problems?

What's your VDimm (memory voltage) set at in the BIOS? High performance memories require high voltage to reach advertised timing.

i didn't know i would have to adjust the voltage speeds to reach the speed it's supposed to run at. it's running at the stock mobo voltage right now, but I can't tell until i reboot. any windows app that will let me see the vdimm?

funny thing is in cpu-z the ram is listed as only doing 2.5-3-3-8 at 200fsb and 2-3-3- at 166 fsb. those are way below specs at what this is advertised.

edit... vdimm setting is currently at 2.6v which the stock bios option. should i raise it higher? i haven't really overclocked ram before (eventhough it's not overclocking because it SHOULD run at cas 2 as advertised).

What voltage does the manufacturer claim to support? This could be different from what your MB is defaulting to.

according to kingston the voltage is 2.5 so 2.6 is actually above the spec voltage.

Says here some Hyper x memory supports 2.7 volts.

Edit: Of course that's all 2-2-2 memory...oops carry on.
