If this is something you need, it looks like a fantastic price. The cheapest I saw it anywhere else was still over $300. Amazon shows it's sold by Office Depot but I couldn't find it anywhere on their website. Kingston shows it's for several different ProLiant servers, so I don't know if it would work in anything else.

Then, of course, it may be a mistake and you can't get it for the $63.95 shown on Amazon, but it wouldn't hurt to try if it's something you could use.

Probably is. I was able to add it to my cart, but I didn't try to check out with it. I have no need for it.

Last time I ordered and got screwed. That was for the $10 Plextor SATA DVDRW drives sold by Office Depot (Tech Depot, an Office Depot company) through Amazon. I was charged for the stuff, they cancelled and they said they issued a refund. Well, my credit card statement showed the charge but no refund. Got a little back-n-forth action with Amazon saying it's not their problem because Tech Depot was the seller, and Tech Depot saying it's not their problem because they refunded the money to Amazon. Eventually I called up my credit card company to dispute it. Now Tech Depot and Amazon can fight over who gets to foot the bill for a chargeback.

Oh well, better they fix it than not honor existing orders. Just had Amazon cancel an order 5 days after sending me my receipt, order confirmation, etc. They used the usual 'out' that it was a typo & so forth. I understand those things happen, but you think they'd catch it immediately rather than almost a week later.

At any rate, thanks OP for trying - woulda been a great deal if it went through.

I order it last night while it was still sub $70. This morning, I have an email stating the order was cancelled because of the following

"We regret to inform you that, Tech Depot, an Office Depot
Company, is unable to ship the product(s)listed from your order.
Unfortunately, Amazon.com requires that we cancel any orders that cannot
be shipped within five (5) days. Amazon.com will process your credit card
refund."

This was only PC2-3200(DDR2-400), so not too useful in a modern desktop.

Modern desktops have RAM dividers, so the memory is still plenty useful if you aren't looking for bleeding edge performance. And serves are usually built with an emphasis on stability, not the last 100 3DMark points.

The RAM just came today, and I looked up the (Nanya) chips on it and they are rated for CAS 4 DDR2-533. It is also 9 chips per side so it is ECC after all. Can regular C2Duo boards/chipsets take ECC RAM?
