Googlegear has a good sale on 512MB PC2700 DDR Ram. The Kingston HyperX is here for $74.50 (and free shipping!) and the Kingston XMS is here for $89. Just wondering if the Corsair is worth the extra cash?

I'm presently using a 512MB stick of Samsung PC2700 (also from Googlegear) and it can barely do 166mHz in my Epox 4PEA+ with 2.4 Gig P4, and that's using the SPD settings with the 4:5 memory ratio with the 133 mHz buss. Using any faster memory settings will force a clearing of the CMOS! :(

I am running the CPU at 133 mHz but using the 4:5 memory ratio clocks the memory at 166 mHz. BTW, the PCI and AGP busses are locked at standard speeds.

well the ram timings are tite on both of them
just get the cheapest one
that's how competition works
personally tho I would spend a little more and get something atleast pc3200
but I guess price is a prime concern

well the hyperX has proven itself to be pretty damn nice
does around 200mhz easily so far ive seen
(maybe sacrifice timings a bit, but no biggie)
