Well, this same chip sells for $170 on kingston's site, lowest I found on Pricewatch was $130 so seems like a pretty decent deal

Detailed specs:

New HyperX Enthusiast Grade Modules:

* Designed and built by the world's largest independent memory manufacturer
* High performance DDR memory
* CAS Latency 2 support for leading-edge performance
* 184-pin 400MHz (PC3200) Unbuffered DDR Modules
* Single-bank 512MB modules
* Aluminum heat spreader for thermal diffusion
* HyperX memory modules based upon latest specifications and designs
* Kingston's memory chips were custom-packaged for Kingston and screened to support the rated speeds on multi-million dollar testers (370MHz for PC3000)
* Backed by Kingston's reputation for quality and support

Kingston HyperX Features:

* 184-pin 400MHz (PC3200)
o 400MHz settings: 2-3-2-6-1 (CAS Latency 2)

* Aluminum heat spreader for thermal diffusion

Will RAM of this quality really be only necessary when OC'ing? I've seen this RAM before and I dig the blue heatsinks, but I've always stuck with the valueram before. Just kinda curious, as this does seem to be a nice deal.

If your valueram wont allow fairly tight timings (2.5,3,3,7) or so then ram with these low latency settings are worthwhile if your a gamer or into video editing. My corsair pc3200LL has similar timings to these hyperX modules at 2-2-2-6 but the OCZ valueram I picked up at Outpost recently performs almost nearly as well at manually setting to 2.5-3-3-7 (sandra for corsair = approx 3090/3080, ocz with tightened timings = approx 3040/3030) and performs identical in all my games and applications, for overclocking pc4000 or higher would be better choice than these with timings not being an issue at higher fsb

Yea, the funny thing, I was looking at them this morning. It was $84.99 with a limit of 5, I go back and now it's $99....Dam, I guess I'll wait...

Yea, same item, my screen still said $84.99 when I went to order them, the price came up $99.....Now that would of been a really hot deal...

Its possible they may be lowered back down to $85 again if you keep an eye out, they seem to be having alot of pricing issues lately. Also Outpost is now advertising these as:

Kingston 512MB
Hyperx KHX3200A/512
CAS 2.2.2.5
Limit 1 per customer

The part number however matches the 2-3-2-6 timings listed in item description though. Should be KHX3200UL to be 2-2-2-5.

Can this ram hit 220? 230? 240? 250? What's the limit of this ram if I loosen the timings to say 2.5-3-3 ?

Every ram overclocks different, alot depends on your available vdimm voltages. You may have to slack to 3-4-4-8 for some high overclocks, and some ram will only run at specs only. Thats the nature of overclocking, but from the limited information I could find a few people hit between 220-250. Couldn't find any reputable reviews to post, as always if your really wanting to overclock your safer going for some pc4000 or better to start with to elimate potential problems.

just so everybody knows, the in khx3200A/512, the A is the newer version which isnt' bh-5
i haven't heard much about this newer on oc'ing, but still its a hell of a deal

Hello,

I have hyper x 3500 ram running at 2.5 2 2 6,
Do you think if I put these in they would match that. I'm hearing from the post that
they probably wouldn't go that high.

I have 1 gig, and i'm looking to add in 1 more gig.

Any ideas on what ram to get to match my old 3500's that's as cheap as these ($99)..
Antonio

abit is7, hyper x 3500, p2.8c o/c to 2.28ghz.

Getting ram to work together can be tricky as newer revisions, different chips, timings, speeds, voltages, spds, etc can all cause incompatibilities. You would probably be best off getting the part numbers off your ram as detailed as possible and contacting Kingston to see what they recommend.

finally a decent price. I have been waiting to add 1 more pair to my system but the price syrocketed after I purchased. Even most of the better priced places like newegg and Mwave have had this for a long time around $140-60/each. I bought this a long time ago for about $85 and the price never went back.

I think I will wait a few days but if it doesnt go back down by monday I'll buy 2.

I don't see why people think this is a hot deal. Earlier this year, for an extended period, Kingston were selling a pair of these for $180. Overall, memory is cheaper now than it was then so I don't think this is hot. If it was PC4000 then yes... but PC3200??? HyperX is ok but it's not great. Most reviews report that it has very limited overclocking.

How do I know all this? I have a pair in the PC I'm using right now.

$128 on Kingston right now.

VERY good price on this...I forked out $150 each for mine after a rebate. Good memory too-- great for overclockers.

I am absolutely blown away.... I ordered overnight s/h last night at like 10PM or something and DHL just delivered it! On a Saturday! That is soooo awesome!

Edit: here is what it says for info, for anyone interested:
