Can you tell me if this stuff is much better than the Crucial 512 PC2700 for $73 at Newegg? (or their Simpletech for $57+$5)?

BTW, Newegg also sells the Kingston stuff for $69+$6

There is a thread here that discusses the cheaper deals on KHX2700 at Newegg and Googlegear, and that discusses which has the good timings, etc. If you are considering this deal I highly recommend you read through that thread first. The Media Net stuff is probably Kingston Value RAM and doesn't make for a good comparison since the timings will be higher, it probably won't overclock as well, and it doesn't come with a heat spreader. Also, with shipping, the Media Net stuff is $69.35, so you would probably do better to order the Crucial PC2700 from CNetPC.com for $64.75 shipped from here. I know CNetPC.com calls it Micron memory, but I can verify that it is Crucial memory as can many others who ordered it after it was reported to be Crucial in this thread. I am not trying to thread crap, I just want to make sure you have a chance to compare the other good deals on memory that people have posted here recently.

Just be aware that the Crucial PC2700 has encountered several issues in the EPOX-8RDA+ motherboards. I am not sure if they hace fixed them yet, so you should check the forums for updates.

I just would like to find some PC2700 or PC3200 512M chips for a good/great price that I know will work great in my new EPOX-8RDA+ system, so I can then try to OC it all....

Any sugestions?

Thanks.

I run the Kingston HyperX PC3000/512 in my 8RDA+. Seems to work great, but I am only running the FSB at 166 (XP2100+ ---> XP2700+). Haven't tried pushing the FSB any higher. I should be ashamed of myself!

I just got in on the 19.99 256MB PC2100 at OD! I wish they weren't OOS online or it would have been 9.99!

I have heard that the Crucial problem is with all nForce2 motherboards. I have the K7N2-L (yes, I wanted it because it is RED) and I don't want to risk getting Crucial that won't work right in it. The Hyper-X PC3000 or PC2700 looks like the way to go for me.
