almost make me wish that I waited a month to build my new PC

awww, i just saw this on the rss, and was like omg; and then I realised a single stick of this could never be $99
good low latency (2-3-2-6) at stock 200 mhz (only with higher voltage), but this thing doesn't overclock much (hardly reaches 220 with 2.5-3-3-8). For memory overclocking the other value models (corsair, kingmax) are a little better - and cheaper too. Nice heatspreader though
The set I bought about 6 months ago overclocks pretty well. I got it stable to 220fsb @ 2-3-2-6-1t 2.7V I guess YMMV.
You might be right on the corsair about memory overclock but your incorrect about kingmax. I had a system i had up to 223 with Geil Value. I put the king max memory in and couldn't even get 210 out of it. Its running at stock speed now thanks to the kingmax memory
I have 2x512MB kingmax PC3200 running at 220 mhz 2.5-3-3-7 with 2.75V. When trying to use the HyperX in the same system with same speeds it didn't get past POST.
I bought those Kingmax ram and it was errors galore. My system crashes within 10 minutes. Memtest86+ started off showing errors after errors. It was horrible and scandisk showed a ton of stuff to fix due to the computer crashing several times.
I bought some hyperx ram from outpost.com
1 of them was horrible, since it had a good amount of errors and won't reach advertised specs.
2nd had 4 errors per pass on memtest86+ on average and crashed my games. I bet it corrupted some other stuff also. Errors existsed even when not reaching the advertised specs.
3rd pair was flawless. No errors at advertised specs. 18 passes without errors is pretty darn good.
I would've thought Kingston's top line memory were actually pretty good in quality. I guess it is not as good as I thought, but good for the price.

It's tough to generalize, since even two modules of the same brand / type can perform differently - sometimes you just get lucky. You may have gotten a bad HyperX pair and a good kingmax pair; you'd need to test several of each brand to make any assumptions.
Anyone have a copy of the rebate on their hd? Outpost's rebate link links to a Value RAM rebate. Unfortunately I cannot find the rebate on the rebate site it links too either.
The "ValueRAM" on the rebate form appears to be a typo, IMO. If you look at the model numbers listed on the rebate form, you will see that those are referring to Kingston's HyperX RAM products!
