would either CL2 ram run stable @430Mhz @CL3 folks?

edit: oops a typo, i meant kingston/corsair as crucial does not have any CL2 modules.

I suggest you should first visit motherboard-specific forums to determine which brand of memory seems most compatible with the memory controller on your board. It's not a quality problem - it's a compatability problem - some boards don't play well with some memory.

I bought some Corsair TWINX 3200C2, which everyone agrees is excellent quality memory, but it wouldn't run error-free above 207MHz with 2/3/3/7 timings on my 8RDA+. The cheaper memory in my sig system, from a lesser-known vendor, just beats the snot out of the Corsair - in my system. Don't make a similar mistake.

Be careful about how you interpret memory markings. The memory in sig system is marked CL3, but it runs 2/2/2/5 timings to 222MHz and 2.5/2/2/7 timings to 230MHz. Unless you plan to run FSB higher than 230MHz, the CL3 marking means nothing.

Do your own research, and buy once.

2.5/2/2/7 timings to 230MHz even though its rated 3-4-4-8@233? that aint half bad i d say!

thanks for info , i got an abit ic-7 (875) though & havent seen any timing/o/c etc problems w/corsair or kingston memory so far.. i believe high end intel chipsets (875 in particular) arent quite as sensitive to timings etc as amd are.. intel chipsets/cpus are much more stable either way ;) part of the reason i m going the p4 route

Thats crazy talk . 200 MHz memory running at 256? Either there's some serious voltage increases coupled with looser than the corner hooker timings or you've got a divider working there.

those timings are loose but thats what XMS runs...

maybe serious voltage bump
