Kingston 64GB SSD $64 AR FS

Kingston SSDNow SNVP325-S2/64GB

$108.95
-$45 rebate (exp.5/15 limit 2 mailed in one envelope)
=$63.95
FREE shipping

Don't forget various cashback deals. For instance Shop Discover gives 5% cashback from Buy.com

This drive probably uses a JMF618 controller (or Toshiba variant). It is adequate. Don't expect Sandforce levels of performance, but do expect it to handily outperform any spindle drive. Can't go wrong at $1/GB.

EDIT: Rebate limit 2 (mail together in one envelope).

Damn you Zap. I read the title. $1/GB is a no-brainer. I knew that they'll be a 80% chance that I'll bite, but now with cashback, you've given me less reason to say no. 64GB can be tight for a single drive desktop, but acceptable for laptops and plenty for netbooks. Damn you! 🙂

By the way, this is the previous V+. Their mid-level SSD from last year meaning it has plenty of performance. It's not entry level and not top dog and won't be struggling for just about anyone.

I'd be all over this if I hadn't gotten on the previous 96GB deal. Would have saved me a handfull of bucks. It's only for my wife's laptop which does not need a lot of storage.

Thankfully I've had my fill of < $1/gb SSDs already. But yeah, finally, a great deal if you can swallow the huge rebate.

FWIW Kingston rebates seem pretty straightforward and not shady like some other companies. I've had my $75 rebate come through for their 128GB SSD.

and for thems that needs more space and even bigger rebates http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-113-_-Product ... seems that kingston has a lot of these boogers to unload...

$/GB is not so great on that deal. It has been available for less in the recent past.

Also, yeah, Kingston is really high volume. I did some searching specifically for SSD volume but couldn't find it (probably too new) but did find all kinds of other, interesting information.

This might explain all of these cheap SSD deals. Increase volume to make a business case? Maybe it is a done deal, so lower unit cost = lower selling price = higher volume? I don't know, but interesting to speculate.

Kingston memory marketshare 2010
1st place Kingston 45.8%
2nd place Adata 7.6%
everyone else = crumbs

Wikipedia reports that Kingston is also #1 with USB flash drives, and #3 with flash cards.

So, yeah, Kingston is absolutely huge in terms of market share, especially in memory where they are absolutely untouchable.

I agree. Never had a problem. Their turnaround time is the fastest out of all the companies I've dealt with.

I bit. In for 2.

< $1/GB is irresistible.

If they can beat PNY, I'd be truly impressed. I got my check from them 2 weeks after mailing the form. No lie.

Yup. But Kingston is still very good with rebates. I'm also getting 2 of these. Very good for "family members and friends"

Damn. OOS. Should've bit an hour ago when I had the chance.

If they come back into stock, ebillme is good for 20% (max $20) cashback on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Buy/Kingston rebates have been good to me - I got my pair of $75 rebates on the price mistake they had a few months ago, I ended up getting the pair of 128 GB SSDs for $65 each

Theres a $5 coupon for new customers. I can never keep track of the rules about posting coupon links here but it is findable at some "slippery" place 🙂

EDIT:
Well if I read this correctly
