I imagine this is the Standard model found on Kingston's site, so the speeds are posted as follows:

Speed Rating ? Up to 5MB/sec. read rate
Up to 1.5MB/sec. write rate

While there's no guarantee of actual speed (beyond the very old minimum spec toolfan lists), in general others have reported these were about 40X cards, BUT as time passes they might be even faster, YMMV.

Exactly the reason I will prob but one...or a few. Anyone know the approx size the downloaded games on the Wii will be?

The largest N64 game was either 64 or 128MB. Most SNES and Genesis games are 4-16MB, and the older games are smaller.

Just got in on this, sweet!

Putting this in the camera so I can move my 512 card to the Wii ;). With the 512 on-board, and 512 SD card, I should be good on gamesaves and virtual arcade for a couple years.

I think you are confusing megabits with megabytes. All console cartridges were measured in megabits, which are considerably smaller than megabytes. Even the largest SNES games are only a few megabytes, so 2 GB card should be an overkill.

EDIT: FYI, Wii already comes with 512 MB of internal memory to store downloaded games (and save games I suppose, which should be quite minuscule). That is a lot, but I guess at this price, you can't go wrong getting one.

In for 1.

$17.70 ~ $3 higher and larger rebate to float... deal cooling down a bit, especially considering it's a slow card for > 1GB data transfer purposes.

Thanks for that, marulee. I never would've figured out this was a great deal without the worthless emoticon that you've managed to post in this and every other thread.
