King's Quest

Anyone know if this new King's Quest game is any good? I saw a couple of previews but it honestly looked like a cartoon with quick time events..

I'm pretty board and looking for something new to play. I really wish they'd release some games that aren't ports of last gen.

I haven't played it yet but it isn't a port of any kind. It is a brand new King's Quest. Just remember that all King's Quest games except for Mask of Eternity were either text based or point and click adventures so I when you describe it as a "cartoon with quick time events" that actually isn't far off from what the core of the game is meant to be.

The only think I'm curious about at this point is how it will evolve as an episode based game. This is only the first of what is supposed to be five chapters.

I get it isn't a port. I was referring to the only new games coming out appear to be ports of old ones like GTA or Borderlands 2. I just saw they released Prototype 1 and 2, and Dishonored is also being ported over to the One (and PS4 I believe) for $40. That's the thing that's annoying me as I want something new to play. Not the same game I've already played through on last gen. The King's Quest is me trying to find something to play, but honestly the idea of watching a movie and hitting buttons doesn't make me want to throw the $10 - $40. I was really hoping there was more to it, like I don't know, a button mashing dungeon crawler type?

I wouldn't judge a game by its cover, I almost did this with Ni No Kuni, AND Valkyria Chronicles thank goodness I got them.

I think Kings Quest will be worth it, I'm debating on getting it now or after its finished... I'll probably end up getting it soon.
