Update: Crossworlds was released on 17th Sept 2010.

Having played it for a few hours over the two mini-campaigns and thoroughly enjoying it, I was wondering if anyone else had gotten their hands on this marvellous game and their opinions on it so far.

All pre-orders receive a free copy of King's Bounty: The Legend which CAN BE gifted to a friend.

Is it not sold by itself?

I'm not browsing on a machine with steam installed, but I only see it for sale in one of two packages: one with KB:TL, and one with KB:TL and KB:AP.

I already have KB:TL?

Indeed they do. I saw it and screenshotted both the 'Pre-order Offer' screen and the 'Checkout' screen prior to purchase, just in case.

However, once I had purchased it, I definitely had a KB:TL gift and I've already sent it out.

(That's why I popped it in the first post and bolded it)

Title and opening post updated.

Now that Crossworlds has been released, do you have it? If not, why not? :D

What do you make of it? I've only dabbled into the two mini campaigns but I am thoroughly enjoying them.

I thought the game was 10$ initially? I went to buy it but it's 20$ now so I have to wait until a Steam sale :(

Steam messed up.

They put the wrong price up AND released it early... they then corrected their mistake quite quickly.

This.

It should be $10.

The editor is rough, and two of the three new campaigns are very short. The third 'new campaign' is simply AP with some additional stuff sprinkled throughout the world (so far, anyway - I'm only on my third island).

Whilst I found both new mini-campaigns to be rather short, they are most definitely not easy or boring.

Each fight throwing up a unique challenge and very limiting in your choice of monsters making the old "auto-win" unit types more difficult to obtain and utilise.

As for the main campaign, I am still to start that. I can't wait though :) Despite the fact it will be my third playthrough of AP, I am most happy to play it through again.

Seriously I don't understand all of this 'wah wah' whinging around the net about Crossworlds. KB is the best and most recent game of it's type, it looks good and plays good. Any additional content should be welcomed with open arms, not crapped upon from a great height because it's not a brand new game with a full story.
