Kingmax gone out of business?

Two things which could be a coincidence but are suspicious since they have both happened within the last 48 hours, have me wondering if Kingmax Technologies (the MicroBGA memory, PC150 guys) has gone out of business.

First Multiwave has stopped selling the memory. This must have happened recently because I saw the memory still for sale there a couple of days ago, and the pages are still up but they just aren't linked.

Second, and more importantly, Kingmax's website is down and has been for at least 24 hours. Because I tried last night and several times today and I couldn't pull up anything.

Their DNS entry is still valid with NSI ('til May). If anyone is more curious than I am, you can try giving them a call at: (949)454-9888 (information from the WHOIS server at NSI).

Anyone have more information?

Go in through the catalog, don't do the search. You will end up at this page here which was changed in the last couple of days to remove Kingmax from the list (because I looked at it at least on Wed. and Kingmax was still here).

It's 11pm out in California or I'd call - probably Kingmax first.

I just found the two sets of circumstances: that Kingmax's website has been down for at least 24 hours, and that MWave removed catalog links to the memory within the last 48 hours, to be suspicious.

EDIT: Ok, I see, you need to drop a little deeper in the menu. It's now listed under Multiwave's memory. Ok, well that's good, then I may be wrong.

I sure hope its just some server problem or a server upgrade of some sort. I dont want to see a great RAM maker like Kingmax go down.

I agree. It would definitely be a shame to lose them. Heck, they are a top-5 manufacturer in Taiwan. It would a big thing.

Interesting. Their Taiwan server is down too. http://www.kingmax.com.tw
It is still owned by them as well.

Their DNS servers (both in Taiwan and in the US) are ping-able. The main website machines (both in Taiwan and in the US) are still ping-able.

Hmmm. Well it is curious, but the fact that I was wrong about Multiwave leaves me only one suspicious circumstance (their website being down), and it's not my intention to spread rumors, so let's drop this thread until there is more proof.

Yea, I hope so too. News sites should be reporting it if they should go out of business. The worst case scenario is probably a server issue or hacked. But you're right, rumors proliferates very fast. Maybe you should edit your title a little to make it sound more accurate.

I hope everything is fine I just bought a stick of Kingmax Ram over at Mwave about 2 weeks ago.
