Well I am soon ordering my p4s333 & 1.6a from googlegear cause I save 10$ over anywhere else .. well they have 2700 kingmax ram there and I was wondering if anyone has ordered kingmax from there before and you got -5 chips and not -7a .. newegg is selling -7 ns chips so I am hoping googlegear isnt.... Its either I order from googlegear with the rest of my order and get it all at once or I spend 10$ more @ kommax cause I have to pay a whole different shipping 🙁

Anyway so has anyone bought kingmax @ googlegear?

EdiT:

Was just looking at 2700 on pricewatch and look at this:
Hardcore Cooling.com enhanced 256mb PC2700 DDR SDRAM PC2700 333Mhz DDR SDRAM unbuffered 2.5v 184pin
Price For Phone Order, Mention Price Watch - KR7A-RAID, KR7A,Iwill XP333-R recommended. PC2700. Uses Micron Chjps.
$ 70 +12.95 sihipping

See what I see? Micron chips! if this stuff is micron and it really does 166mhz then id say its a decent deal....

...just make sure you get 6ns chips or better.

7ns = 143mhz
6ns = 166mhz
5.5ns = 181mhz
5ns = 200mhz

dont fall for the old "7ns ram can still be pc2700" BS. yea 2700 if its overclocked!
remember the days when 10ns pc66 suddenly overnight became 10ns pc100?

I bought some Kingmax PC2700 (-5) at googlegear. It was expensive at $94 for 256 MB. It runs quite happily at 175 MHz CAS 2 @ 2.7 volts and doesn't even get warm. I haven't tried higher yet.

Just out of curioity, why are you guys looking for kingmax???

Micron already has a PC2700 DDR ram out. check out their website.

Well if you get the kingmax 5ns ram that should easily do 180-200 its the best ddr ... A guy on hardforums has it at 204fsb ...

its good good ram

that would be good if only they have 512mB modules. I don't like using the 256 specially if u have limited memory slots.

<< even the kingmax pc2700 7ns ripoff ram does 189mhz! 😉 >>

Correction YOUR ripoff ram does 189mhz ... not everyones does.. infact a guy who posted in your thread got the ripoff ram and couldnt even get over 150fsb I believe it was...

<< How can you tell if the Kingmax is 5ns?

My chips say "-05" on them. Is this 5ns?
>>

Yes.

I got my Kingmax 5ns from Kommax. They are about 5 minutes from where I live so I went there and actually looked at their Kingmax RAM. The chips said "-05" so I bought 2 sticks. They are $93/stick which is the same price Newegg charges for it when they have it in stock. Kommax does specifically say that this is 5ns RAM so they might be the best place to buy from.

heh they are but I am a cheapskate and was hoping to save 10 bucks by combining the ram with my order from googlegear save on shipping you know 🙂

My Kingmax 256mg sticks of PC2700 from Googlegear have 5ns chips. At least I think they have since the last 2 digits on the chips are "05".

Item #80033 / $93 each.

This was from order received about 1 month ago.
