King or Queen Size Bed?

The wife and I just bought a house and moved in last week. We're buying a bedroom set tomorrow and still haven't decided on whether to go the king-size or queen-size route.

We currently have a queen, which is going in the guest room. We were married last year and have all the usual wedding gifts for a queen-sized bed (sheets, comforter, etc.) already. Buying a king would cost an extra $600 plus the price of buying new sheets, a comforter, etc.

Is it worth it? Should I take the plunge and get a king-sized bed or is the queen-sized bed sufficient.

Inquiring minds (mine) want to know what off-topic minds (yours) think. :D

How are your sleeping habits? Are either/both of you wanderers, if so a King would be better.

We slept in a King (or California King? Not sure) on our honeymoon, we have a queen... the difference is in credible

For sheets go to Costco and get the pima cotton sheets... 400-450 TC. They're great

Not very, just 6'2. I tend to sleep with one arm above my head (under my pillow) though so even on a king I hang off the end if I don't sleep diagonally.

Cal-King is nice for the added length, I went from a king waterbed to standard king & miss the length.

That's a good point, although personally I'd rather be comfortable than have a bedroom that looks nice. We couldn't even fit a queen box spring up the stairs of our house though.

We have a sizable bedroom -- 9' x 14' -- so the space is there. And I'm 5' 11" and my wife's 5' 9", so we're not stretchy giants like some of you folks. :)

I'm thinking the king is a clear winner. Thanks, ATOT!:D

My husband and I have a King Pillowtop. It is the best mattress ever. I love that it is so roomy. We bought it when I was pregnant with my last baby & it gave me plenty of room :)

Umm 9x14 is NOT a sizable bedroom. You realize you'll have only a foot on either side of the bed (or two feet at the end of course)?

I sure hope that was a typo & you meant 19.
