I like how you classify 1933 miles of fence as "really easy."
Easier said than done.
Do you know just how long the border is and just how quickly a small group of determined people can make it through a fence?

That's why the military should be down there. It is not insurmountable.
Becoming a refugee center for this entire half of the planet would impoverish this country. We are well on our way...

Why go all the way to middle east to shoot brown people when we have them right on our doorstep eh?
If that monstrosity was ever built the next step would be the whining about how much it costs and its the Democrat's fault for building such a wasteful fence.
I guess a "secure" boarder looks like the East German wall. I vote no on that nonsense.
Cost is no issue. 20B or so. Thats small potatoes compared to most things.

Saudis is longer and took 2 years. This is a semi third world country with 9m people. Bechtel built it and they are based here. We could have a fence up in 6 months tops if congress really wanted to. But they dont want because the people that pay them love cheap labor.
Is that what you tell police if you stop someone from breaking into your house, that you just liked shooting <color> people?
The wall on the Saudi/Yemeni border is only partially completed, and the length of the border is only 1100 miles, compared with 1900 miles of US/Mexico border.

Also, it's already being circumvented.

Last year at this time 9,570 incidents had been recorded of migrants illegally crossing into Israel from the Egypt-controlled Sinai Peninsula.
This year that number is just 34.
Compared to building a B2 or an aircraft carrier? It is.I like how you classify 1933 miles of fence as "really easy."
It's not all about Obama but the precedence this sets. It's also not about the amount of executive orders but the choices. He's gone in a couple of years but this practice will remain. He is way out of his lane with his pen and phone comments and his actions. For a Constitutional lawyer he seems to have missed a few lessons regarding separation of powers. Again, he proves his lack of leadership abilities and rather than facilitate changes and compromise within Congress he further divides the House and Senate. This man couldn't mange a Taco Bell let alone the presidency.
Neither could Bush. It seems quite a few of the last presidents were ONLY good for pressing palms and kissing babies. They'd be almost worthless without their parents connections.
As for precedent, it isnt just him. Reagan granted amnesty and the last several presidents have gone buck wild with interpreting the Constitution to suit their agenda and making policy all on their own.
